Manou Gallo and Lucas van Merwijk reunite after their earlier international tours with Van Merwijk’s Music Machine through Canada, Africa and Europe. This reunion brings together two powerful rhythmic personalities who share their musical dialogue.

Gallo, born in Côte d’Ivoire and internationally known as The African Queen of Bass, gained worldwide fame with Zap Mama and worked with legends such as Bootsy Collins and Manu Dibango.
Van Merwijk is a leading drummer in European Latin, jazz and world music, and was awarded Best Jazz Drummer and Best Fusion Drummer in the Benelux for many years.

In their duo, they create a surprisingly rich sound despite the compact line-up, using bass, drums, percussion, vocals, guitar, kalimba and electronics. The music moves between West African groove, funk, world and jazz, interspersed with intimate, poetic moments.
The result is an energetic and atmospheric program that is both artistically innovative and accessible.
